How it works

Live in three steps

No rip-and-replace. OutNode works with the routers and ANPR cameras you already have — it just starts watching them.

1

Connect your sites

Point your existing routers and cameras at OutNode. It's vendor-agnostic, so devices are matched automatically and onboarding a site is quick.

2

We watch every device

OutNode continuously checks each device's health and freshness. If a router goes silent or a camera stops reading plates, it's recorded as an outage the moment it begins.

3

You're alerted — or it self-heals

Get a push or email the instant a site goes dark, while OutNode automatically power-cycles or reboots the failures it can fix on its own.

Under the hood

Freshness, not last-message

Most tools show a device as "OK" based on the last message it sent. But a router that has died simply stops sending — so its last message still says "OK" while the site is dark.

OutNode judges health on whether a device is still reporting. Miss the expected check-in and it's flagged as stale — the same across the device page, the site view and the outage list, so nothing hides.

Trustworthy alerts
  • Minimum-duration thresholds stop flapping devices spamming you.
  • Scheduled maintenance windows are respected — nightly reboots don't wake you at 3am.
  • Alerts arrive by email and mobile push, with a deep link to the affected site.
